Probably many customers have encountered the typical problem that their battery does not charge because the laptop does not have power. We tested the power supply, and it works, but the laptop does not get power because the connector has broken, the female of the connector is badly soldered, or it is broken, or it has a lot of slack and no longer holds the male of the connector, or it has even sunk and is inside the laptop and we can no longer even see it, and we do not know who can repair. If that is your case, we can help you, because we are going to give you some notions to repair it and if not, you can send the equipment to our micro-electronics laboratory so that our team of professionals can repair it with the best means and components, and at a very good price, surely unbeatable compared to other companies (among the few that provide the service).
Our laboratory has successfully solved hundreds of laptops with this problem, it is one of the most common among users who have a damaged laptop. We repair power problems for laptops. We repair or change the plug, connector of the laptop.
To begin with, we have to be clear about what exactly is wrong, if it is the power supply connector, come on, the plug that we plug into the damaged laptop, or if it is the internal connector of the broken laptop itself, that is, where we put the male connector of the power supply unit.
In the case of being the male connector or jack of the power supply :
It is the simplest, most economical, and easy to repair the case, it only requires the replacement of the power connector that has the end of the power supply cable, it is generally male. It is usually relatively easy to get, except in some DELL and Sony models, but with a couple of days more, because they take time to arrive, we solve it, it is not expensive, it is practically the cost of the connector and 10 minutes of the hand construction site.
And if it is the internal connector or jack of the power supply on the motherboard, we can find ourselves in three situations:
1.- Loose power connector, unsoldered, and without further damage, it simply requires opening the damaged laptop, removing the motherboard, cleaning the area of the welds, cleaning well both the motherboard and the connector to be reused, and re-soldering correctly the original power connector. Check and reassemble the repaired laptop.
You can see here how to replace a damaged connector or jack on a motherboard with a new one:
2.- Broken, sunken, or loose power connector, but without further damage to the motherboard, in this second case, it is necessary to open the damaged laptop, remove the motherboard, clean the area of the welds on the motherboard and clean them. After this, it only remains to replace the broken power connector with a new one and reassemble the complete equipment.
These are the typical forms of the female power connectors or jack, the ones that go internally in the laptop:
3.- Broken, sunken, or loose power connector, but with some more damage to the motherboard, in this second case, it is necessary to open the damaged laptop, remove the motherboard, clean the area of the welds on the motherboard and clean them. After this, it is necessary to locate the faults or extra failures that the motherboard has, normally they tend to have problems with raised, missing, or broken circuit tracks, and in rarer cases, it also requires circuit repair and replacement of electronic elements due to short circuits caused by the connector itself when breaking or being loose. These repairs require a little extra time to repair because you have to check everything well and reassemble the board and the laptop, to subject it to a good battery of tests.
