Ticwatch E Review
After a brief stint off anger disappointment and acceptance. I went online and started looking for a new smartwatch that afternoon all too accustomed to buying now and stumbled upon the Kickstarter put a tickwatch S. and E.
Long story short given its great price of a hundred twenty-nine US dollars. I’m back to one of the month and today here I have with me is the Mobvoi Ticwatch E smartwatch.
So let’s see if this ticwatch is a suitable replacement for my zenwatch 2. By now like clockwork, we always start with a quick on boxing to see what we get in the package.
Since I got the early bird package I got some extra goodies to go along with my smartwatch
but we’ll get to that in a bit. Let’s get to the good stuff first.
My watch came in a colorful metal ten with the ticwatch logo on it and popping the top opened the first thing is the Ticwatch E. Opted for the classy looking shadow variant.
Mobvoi packed the insights of this didn’t quite tightly but once I manhandled it out below the ticwatch E watch you’ll find the instruction manuals and the USB cable to charge to watch.
Now moving on to the goodies. First in the smaller box mobvoi provided a teeny tiny tempered glass screen protector for the ticwatch E, nice touch I like that.
We get extra protection for the display and on to the bigger box. Which by the way was also really stubborn to get open. We see the extra free charging cable that I got for being an early backer nice.
Specifications – Ticwatch E Review
Now let’s see what makes the ticwatch E so nice. Handling your wearable processing is the Mediatek MT 2601 mobile processor that has to arm cortex A.
The Ticwatch E runs on android wear 2.0 that has five twelve megabytes of ram and four gigabytes of rom which should be more than sufficient for the device on your wrist.
As far as display goes it uses 1.4-inch o led display at 400×400 resolution with an anti-scratch glass above it. Mobvoi doesn’t mention what type it is.
So it’s probably not gorilla glass but might be a sushi dragon trail because it’s the o led display part of the display elements. Actually shift
around without your noticing prevent any burning issues.
You get wifi BGN due to 4.1 heart rate monitor proximity sensor a microphone in ticwatch E. It also speaker combo vibration motor and a gyroscope as well as built-in GPS in the watcher’s body. No NFC no but that’s fine it’s not really that useful for the thing to have in my neck of the woods.
Speaking of the body the ticwatch E is made of polycarbonate and is rated to have an IP sixty-seven water and dust resistant rating. The strap is of twenty millimeters in width. So if you’re looking to get replacement straps for his watch that’s the size you want to look out for. They’re made of flexible silicon so they shouldn’t damage all crack anytime soon unlike standard rubber straps.
Flipping to watch over you find the heart rate monitor and the charging pins for the watch. On that note he provided charging cable is a nice looking flat ribbon cable of one meter in length. It’s magnetic area forty charging pins and it’s not what kind of S. bringing them closer they don’t hesitate to snap into each other.
Having the watch with your phone is an easy effect. Just start up to watch open up the android wear app on your phone. Touch on set up then type on the watch name press OK a few problems later and you’re good to go.
Amazing Functions – Ticwatch E Review
Getting around on the ticwatch E was really pleasing. Swapping left or right off the watch face allows you to change your watch face design. Swapping up from the bottom allows you to see any notification that might have come in. Sliding up from the top gives you access to some of the watch’s quick settings. While pressing on the crown opens a list of the watches installed apps.
The ticwatch E is compatible with android and ios devices and it has a number of features including a heart rate monitor step counter GPS and there is also splash proof with an ip67 water resistance. It has a 300 mAh battery with 4 GB internal memory.
The strap is made of a soft silicon material which makes it comfortable to wear and I like the fact that you can easily remove it which means you do have the option of using the straps.
Connecting the charging cable is very easy as its magnetic and the charger automatically connects itself when you put it near the watch and also being magnetic lines up perfectly every single time.
On the back of the watch you find the heart rate sensor which doesn’t seem to be reasonably accurate. As long as the water isn’t moving around on your wrist.
Now setting up the ticwatch E only takes a few minutes. You need to do this using the free android wear from the Google play store. Apart from outside you know someone to download the mobvoi app for it which will allow you to keep track of your health and fitness stats.
They're all quite a few watch traces to choose from straight out of the box. But you can also choose from a range of choices on the play store. Now for telling the time the watch is superb. And there is an option having display always on as well. Which simply dims the screen and Shows a much simpler black and white version of the watch face. If you want to preserve even more battery Life, you do have the option to disable that always on feature.
Personally I'm not into fitness but for people that are the ticwatch E has great options to keep track of activities such as running and walking exercising at the gym and pretty much any other type of activity that you can sync off.
Monitoring a workout routine is very simple and it only takes a few seconds to set this up on the watch. The ticwatch E will then start collecting data which you can access later in the mobvoi app.
So this could be really useful for the people that want to improve their workout, keep track of their progress and really look closely at the stats. The mobvoi app is also very easy to navigate so no problems there either.
On to the top screen and that's covered in anti scratch glass which is good. Sadly fingerprints are unavoidable but that is to be expected and honestly he's not much worse than the apple watch for example. One good thing is that the screen is ways very responsive and so that does make using the watching enjoyable.
The device has a microphone and a speaker and making receiving phone calls works well. The volume during closing reason but you may struggle to hear the person on the other end if you are in a noisy place.
There are a number of apps pre installed on the watch. Such as alarms and weather you can of course also download more apps from the Google play store.
Now being an android wear device you also have google assistant which can be really useful. When you're on the move but you will find that people assistance still have many limitations.
Overall I like the design of the ticwatch E. It doesn't feel heavy to wear and the city construct does make it comfortable especially during a workout.
I also really do like the fact that mobvoi have chosen to keep the brand name of the ticwatch E very minimal. And for me that gives it more of a premium feel. Now I do have to say that in my opinion one thing that would really improve this watch is better battery life.
It's not terrible but if you're using any of these features apart from just telling the time then chances are you will need to charge it every day. I also think that with more ram and also a faster processor, the overall experience would be a little better.
With all that said though I do think it offers great value for money. And I love being able to control youtube and music played back on my wrist. And also being able to download more apps from the play store was great.
